The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” My older students (grades 3-5) are drawing Rosa Parks, and they are as jealous as can be that the “little kids” get to cut and paste the picture! This project is a bonus activity in my Rosa Parks collaborative grid project , but I include it here for my blog readers for free! Rosa Parks was a civil rights activist who refused to surrender her seat to a white passenger on a segregated bus in Montgomery, Alabama. Her defiance sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott.
