In March 1991 a large bronze bust of Rosa Parks, created by sculptor Artis Lane, was unveiled and presented to the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C., as a gift of the Anheuser-Busch Companies. During the unveiling ceremony, Mayor Sharon Pratt Dixon presented Rosa with the key to the city, and Cicely Tyson recited a Maya Angelou poem.
